WILDLIFE Unlikely Allies: Hawks and HummingbirdsBack
Synopsis
Springtime in the Chiricahua Mountains signals the arrival of two very different birds: the tiny black-chinned hummingbird and the giant Cooper's hawk. Their lives are intrinsically linked. While the hummingbirds nest in the lush, forested haven, they must venture out into the desert to find food. Their eggs are in constant danger of being taken away by other birds in this forest. Only with the arrival of the Cooper's hawks can the hummingbirds raise their young in safety.
