Le fleuve invisible, un trésor sous la plaine du RhinBack
Synopsis
The waters collected by the Alps, the Vosges and the Black Forest flow towards the North Sea. Some of it travels in surface streams and rivers, but the largest body of water flows underground. It is the water table of the Rhine: the largest in Europe. We can see this water in rare places, when it gushes under the pressure of the subsoil, forming crystalline rivers where a unique life develops. "The invisible river" tells the links of surface waters, rivers and gravel pits, with the underground water table, an interaction at the origin of singular biotopes where life has made its way. A treasure, however, threatened by invasive species, but also intensive agriculture and irrigation.
